Course Description

EurAka University Affiliate Program. Bachelor of Hospitality Management covers a wide area of services including hotel and resort, airline, health and tourism industries.

The Hospitality management course includes the fundamentals of the art of hotel and catering skills to students with a special stress on the practical aspects of the vocation.

The program also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Hospitality Marketing and Tourism Management.

The programme of studies is aligned with international standards of undergraduate Higher Education and fulfils the criteria of the process of Harmonisation of Higher Education in Europe accordingly. The course awards successful students Or 240 ECTS credits:

  • 108 ECTS credits by completion of 18 compulsory taught modules (3 modules as “Language”, 2 modules as “ITC and Legal”, 5modules as “Hospitality Managements” and 8 modules as “General Management”) with 6 ECTS credits per module,
  • 96 ECTS credits by completion of 16 Elective and Specialized (“Core Course and Elective Modules” devided in three Elective Group “Hotel Management/Culinary Art/ Travel & Tourism Management”) taught modules (6 ECTS credits per module) and
  • 12 ECTS credits through the Bachelor’s thesis or Research Report and
  • 24 ECTS credit assessed internship (for 10-12 months) and Practice Course as fourth Year.

Taught modules are delivered interactively and are based on actual knowledge and research in this pathway.

Duration of the Program: – 4 years (8 Semesters)

Course learning Outcomes

The particular intended learning outcomes are:

  • Introduce to critical thinking and analytical approaches to theories and best practice of contemporary hospitality organisational contexts by analysing the internal and external environment.
  • Further the ability to read, understand, and make sense of the specific organizational needs for sustainable organisational progress in the hospitality industry.
  • Develop the capacity to evaluate and critically analyse, how organisational functions effectively and efficiently interact for performance improvements.
  • Apply own high standards of moral and ethical behaviour contributing to that of an organisation.

Course Objective

The aims for the programme are as follows:

  • ability to acquire knowledge in business and economics that creates and develops well-rounded managers and executives to enable them to compete at the global hospitality industry level;
  • to produce proactive graduates who are knowledgeable and keep abreast with current issues of business and economics;
  • to produce graduates with capability to integrate and apply the latest technology in hospitality management;
  • to contribute to the country’s development by producing graduates that fulfils requirements of both private and public sectors in tourism and hospitality industry;
  • to share their knowledge of business and economics to students of other schools in this university college in order to produce well-rounded graduates
  • Capability to develop a healthy body and mind and become a disciplined individual while truly representing the hospitality industry in a professional manner.

Entry Requirement:

  • 12 (Science and Management) / Diploma in IT
  • Pass Foundation programsin Business & Computing Foundation; or
  • Pass STPM; or secured at least second division in the 10+2, PCL or equivalent program equivalent
  • Pass A level with 5 credit (English & 4 other subjects); or equivalent to Government agency

The graduated from the University are able to attain gainful employment in a variety of industry sectors, both locally and abroad via ‘fast-track’ industry management trainee program. Some of the areas of employment are:
